OverView
Taurex’s mission is to inspire financial confidence for traders and investors of the world and to disrupt the Forex market. The goal of this project was to create an experience that encourages beginner traders to start trading CFDs without overwhelming them, while still providing meaningful interaction with the product. During this project I worked primarily with a UI designer, and kept in contact with the primary researcher for the client to ensure that we had all the necessary user insights. Although the project is finalized, it remains in the pipeline, pending further development of the app before going live.

The Challenge
How might we make asset bundles attractive to beginner traders, so that they feel comfortable and confident when starting their trading journey. Criteria Not an overwhelming experience for the user Clarifies how bundled assets are different to single assets Surface all important and necessary information with a clear hierarchy Visual interest to engage the user Needs to be scalable
The Solution
Drawing inspiration from ETFs, we introduced "Asset Bundles" to provide beginner traders with a simplified alternative to manual trading. These bundles group assets based on common themes, offering flexibility and risk management without overwhelming the user. Asset Bundles are particularly appealing to new traders who lack expertise in specific assets or companies but want to invest in industries they’re interested in, such as a bundle of technology-focused assets. Users can explore these pre-made bundles via the discovery page, making it easier for users with limited knowledge to engage with the market. The detailed asset bundle page includes graphs that break down the different assets and industries within each bundle, providing a clear and intuitive overview for users.
Understanding the Ask: I started by reviewing previous user research to grasp the key characteristics of different personas and gain a solid understanding of CFDs and the broader financial markets. I also researched alternative financial markets to explore their solutions and potential insights. Ideation: We engaged in an intensive ideation process, distinguishing between concepts that were too far-fetched and those with practical elements that could be refined and applied.
Outcome
Delivered future-focused designs that showcased our team's innovation and demonstrated our forward-thinking capabilities.
Deep Client Understanding is Key: Having a thorough grasp of the client’s goals and market is essential to creating effective designs that resonate with their target audience. Pushing Creative Boundaries: In hindsight, I would have liked to explore more bold, innovative ideas instead of just offering variations of the same concept. Taking bigger creative risks could have led to even more distinctive solutions. Balancing Creativity with Feasibility: This project reinforced the importance of considering the practicality and feasibility of ideas during the design process. We had to carefully evaluate how each solution would impact other sections of the app, ensuring a cohesive and functional final product.
